5 years

In five years I would like to have my teaching degree or at least just be finishing my last semester. I wish to be living in Philadelphia with a steady income job and after i get my degree i would like to move out to Long Beach, California for a few years to live a relaxed lifestyle teaching art. I would wish to be living happy and healthy, getting in many beach days and warm winters.

Radical!

Alternative facts

In my opinion Alternative facts are not facts at all. They are the opinions that these officials want us to believe are true. The pictures of the crowd sizes are real pictures compared side by side from a reliable source however the Trump administration called the photos a inaccurate representation of the crowd size. the administration then said “This was the largest audience to ever witness an inauguration—period—both in person and around the globe.” which was a lie. We also know that Trumps aids lied about Trump writing his own inaugural speech.  The fact that the president of the United States can lie about these things and no one seems to truly care just backs up what the previous article said. That millennials are afraid to voice there own opinion but the ones that do are just posting about it on the internet and not taking action.

My So Called Opinion response

In the first part of the article the writer is saying that millennials have been born into "pluralism" which is described by the writer as " a cultural recognition of difference: individuals of varying race, gender, religious affiliation, politics and sexual preference, all exalted as equal." This is what he believes is keeping millennials from forming there own beliefs and instead making them choose to be politically correct. This has lead him to ask if what we are learning in the classroom is going to make it harder for us millennials to make our own judgements in the real world.
In part two he talks about how there is no such thing as a true fact there is always someones opinion or outlook on the subject they are writing or talking about. Which i believe in a sense is true, you can't just watch one news outlet without getting a little bit of their take on the subject. But some facts are simply facts. if 45,000 people were at a baseball game there were 45,000 people at the baseball game end of story. He also says that when throughly questioned many people can't stand by the phrase "I like what I like". I think that this statement is completely false because everyone is going to have their own opinion about what they like. Some people might like it for one reason while others hate it for the same reason.
In part three he continues saying that millennials are afraid to call people different or separate individuals. He concludes the article saying that millennials are "crippled by indecision and hope to one day boldly stake out our own claims, without trepidation." I feel like most millennials are just trying to find their opinions still and they are more open to change which is not a negative thing. I feel like the past generations have been so closed minded that they would never give things a chance and that is what is different about us millennials.
